In the morning, there is often a long line down the ramp to get on the Express Monorail. The monorail is quicker but the ferry boat has much greater capacity. Now you have to choose your method of transportation, either the ferryboat or the monorail. All bags get inspected and everyone has to pass through metal detectors. It is quick and convenient.Īfter getting to the TTC, you can buy tickets if needed, otherwise, you bypass the ticket booths and go through security. When you drive to the Magic Kingdom after parking, first you have the choice of walking to the Transportation and Ticket Center(TTC) or taking the tram from the parking lot to the TTC. We generally opt for the ferry unless the weather is bad - cold or stormy. Plus, the ferry is really beautiful and a fun way to approach the park. But the Monorail line is often very long and slower than you think. The ferry "looks" slower because there are just two and it takes 10 minutes to go from one side to the other. Whether the ferry is faster or slower than the Monorail to MK is entirely up to the size of the lines. Depending how far in the future you're going, the first of these lines may be operational. Disney is in the process of putting in new gondola systems that will supplement all this to make it easier to get around. The two main French restaurants in the France pavilion, for example, are very good. Some people like to go to EPCOT for dinner as there are many wonderful food options there. If you want to hop from park to park, you have to go back to the DTC to catch a bus or the Monorail for your other destination. To the right of the Monorail station is the bus terminal where you can catch busses to different parks and hotels. ![]() There, you can jump on a Monorail to go the the MK, or on a separate line to go to EPCOT.
